记得爱

This song is sung by 李玖哲 and 阿沁 (guitarist from F.I.R). Am listening to this song now, really like the melody of the song. Talking about 李玖哲, was watching the Golden Melody Awards 2007. He won the best male vocalist award last night. Was watching his interview on a pre-award programme, he mentioned that no one was willing to give him a chance to sing but the "Machi" big brother (used to be from the L.A Boyz group) believed in him and help him cut his album.

In retrospect, many a times talents are being passed over because they lack the looks or certain qualities. I personally believe that sometimes talent is latent, it needs the right person to discover and nurture the diamond in the rough. The outcome can be sparkling.

The Yellow Ribbon Project

Just watched the movie "Three Good Man" by Jack Neo on Ch 8. This movie was made in 2005 in conjunction with the theme of The Yellow Ribbon Project that is to help rehabilitate ex-offenders back to society and promote awareness of giving them a second chance. Was very touched by the storyline of the show, it reflects the harsh reality of society's rejection of ex-offenders and the difficulties they faced in gaining acceptance and social re-integration.

I firmly believe that everyone deserves a second chance in life, be it a small thing like a second at work or at school to a larger scale that is second chance at life. To err is humane, who does not make mistakes in life. For some people, the price of making mistakes are costly but they had paid for it with incarceration. The sad thing is that at times it is social rejection which push them back to their old ways and wrong path. It is a vicious cycle that can only be broken if the society at large can support and accept these group of people back into society.

The Yellow Ribbon Project started in 2004 and I had been supporting it since then. It is very heartening to see the growing success of this campaign each year. This goes to show that there is a growing awareness and increase support from the community at large to accept and re-integrate the ex-offenders back to society. Looking forward to this year's campaign and the related events and of course not forgeting the yellow ribbon pin =P
